PT Multikimia Intipelangi
PT MULTIKIMIA INTIPELANGI (PT MKI) commenced its commercial operation after being inaugurated by the former Minister of Trade and Industry, In Hartarto, on February 18, 1993. Out of its location in Cibitung, Bekasi, PT MKI has established a firm base of manufacture of Cellulosic Reactive Dyes and Disperse Dyes. Reactive Dyes are used widely in the dyeing and printing of cotton, viscose rayon, and cotton/rayon blend textile fabrics. Whereas Disperse Dyes go into the coloring process of polyester based textile.
The company has been aggressive in expanding both its production capacity and product range. During the first few years of operation, it was manufacturing mostly commodity type reactive dyes. Since 1997, PT MKI has doubled its production capacity to 1,500 metric tons per annum and embarked upon a Product Research and Development (R&D) program under a supervision of a highly reputable European scientist. The R&D program has expanded the higher quality end of the product spectrum. This involves the manufacture of specialty dyes, with only a handful of international competitors and none in Indonesia.
PT MKI sells its products to the local textile market through its parent company, PT Galic Bina Mada, one of the oldest and most prominent companies to supply pigments and textile chemicals to the Indonesian textile industry. PT MKI together with the parent company have been rigorously promoting the new high quality specialty dyes to various export markets, such as Italy, England, Spain, Turkey, Greece, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Malaysia. Exports to Europe, Japan and the Philippines have been realized and continue to grow.
The key to success lies in the company's intimate understanding of stringent requirements of the European markets. PT MKI understands that the only way to satisfy such demanding standards is to manufacture high quality dyes in accordance to the highest European tolerances through tight control of process design, product quality, and product purity. It is this commitment to quality that forces PT MKI to have adopted consistent and reproducible manufacture systems through implementation of a quality management system under ISO 9002 : 1994 standard.
At the same time, PT MKI is also fully aware of its environmental responsibilities with respect to both developing greener dyes and treating its production effluent. Our effluent discharge consistently meets both provincial and national environmental standards. This reflects PT MKI's belief in keeping the world green for generations to come.
